Khamlane Halsackda – What Do you Expect?

London Premiere at Rich Mix – 3rd May 2013

World Premiere at Dansstationen, Sweden -3rd – 5th April  2013

‘We are gypsies, and chameleons: Ballerina, street dancer, post-modern choreographer, actor, lap-dancer, singer and contemporary artist, contemporary dancer, we are everything you expect, but also everything you don’t.’

Part discussion but all performance, Khamlane’s latest quartet delves into the ‘lives’ of a contemporary dancer and in the process blurring the lines between audience and performer, putting everything that happens on stage into question. What is real and what fictional? Who do you think we are? And what do you expect?

‘’It’s not dancers who are chameleons, as we in the audience are part of the show. Do the dancers stop being dancers and I stop being audience when the headlights go out’’  Daily Skanskan, Kristina Nilsson
